Why this Hike
This hike along the first section of the Yuraygir Coastal Walk is a fantastic walk filled with flowing creeks, beaches and coastal tracks. If you are looking for a whole day of adventure along the New South Wales Coast then this walk may be just perfect for you. The walk also offers opportunities for Bird and Whale watching so bring your binoculars if you would like to try witness either of these two wildlife events. The end of the walk has some basic services can be found including a coffee cart and general store for a post walk snack.
Track Notes & Overview
Starting from the Angourie Bay Picnic Area take the linking track at the far end of picnic area away from the road in to join up with the main walking track. Follow this track to Mara Creek Picnic Area where it turns into Shelley Track, keeping following this track down the coast past Shelley Head Campground, along Shelley Beach and Lake Arragan and Red Cliff Campground before a few hundred metres further down the track it turns into a beach walk. Follow this beach walk along Main Beach past coffee shops on the far end until reaching Brooms Head Lookout (the end of the hike).
