Why this Hike
This hike along the coast between Mon Repos and Burnett Heads follows the turtle trail as it takes you through the conservation park. The site of the multipurpose trail is an important nesting area for the Loggerhead Turtle and during some month of the year guided night-time walks can be taken to witness the nesting and hatching of the baby turtles.
Track Notes & Overview
Starting at the end of Lookout Drive which sits just off Fred Courtice Avenue this hike follows the Turtle trail north-west towards Burnett Heads through the Mon Repos Conservation Park. The walk is quite long and is a good walk along some wooden boardwalks and paved track with well-marked Turtle trail signage guiding the way. When you reach the lighthouse Motel at Burnett Heads you can return back along the trail to Lookout Drive to head home and finish your hike.
