Why this Hike
This difficult day hike in the Alpine National Park takes you around the beautiful Mount Stirling with grand views of the surrounding area. This hike shows you some of the best that Alpine Victoria has to offer in a grand circuit hike around the mountain which shows off the local area and huts.
Track Notes & Overview
Starting at Telephone Box Junction turn left up circuit road for about 2 kilometres until reaching Stirling Trail, follow this trail until reaching GGS hut near which you will find the turn off onto Clear Hills Track. Walk down Clear Hills Track and continue to follow until reaching Craigs Hut, once you have reached this hut turn back on Clear Hills Track and walk back to the junction with the Stirling Trail and Howqua Gap Trail near GGS Hut. At this junction turn down Howqua Gap Trail and continue to follow, when reaching an intersection turn right and follow as it merges with Bluff Spur Trail, continue to follow this Bluff Spur Trail until reaching Baldy Loop Track where you will turn left. A few hundred metres down this track you will meet up with Circuit Road, at this road turn right and follow for a further few hundred metres where you will find Telephone Box Junction (the start and finish of the hike).
