Why this Hike
This hike between the Orroral Campground and the historical homestead offer for a great day of exploring on relatively smooth tracks. The hike party follows the Orroral River in Namadgi National Park and is not too difficult for walkers of most abilities to undertake with ease.
Track Notes & Overview
Starting from Orroral Campground where there is some facilities such as toilets and parking this hike follows the Orroral Heritage Walking Track. 500 metres after setting off you should reach a junction, make sure to follow the signs to the right keeping on the Heritage trail. The track can have a very remote feel to it but is well signposted so getting lost is hopefully not that easy. Snakes can be present in some of the more swampy parts of this trail so make sure to keep an eye out and take some precautions before you set off. The track to the homestead is about 4.2km long and once you have reached the homestead you can take a little break before returning back along the same track to return to the campground and head home.
