Why this Hike
This walk takes you on a gentle incline, well graded track to the spectacular Square Rock which gives views over the Brindabella Ranges. To get to this beautiful granite outcrop you must walk through native eucalypt woodland taking in the amazing natural surroundings.
Track Notes & Overview
Starting at Square Rock Walk Carpark this walk follows Square Rock Track up the hill along a well graded and marked track. At the first intersection keep to the right trail and at the second you have a choice. To complete this walk you will go down each one of these two mini tracks and return, the one on the right will Square Rock (the focal point of this hike) and the left with take you to Orroral Valley Lookout which gives another perspective of the valley you are hiking in. Once you have gone down both of these mini trails and returned to the intersection you can walk back along the trail you took to get there until reaching the carpark again where you started the walk.
*Please note some scrambling is required for the Orroral Valley lookout and the winds can be quite strong at Square Rock.
