Why this Hike
This walk near the northen border of the ACT this hike takes you around Uriarra Loop and shows off the views of Shepherd’s Lookout. With grand views of the river below and wide expansive views of the local area this hike has something for everyone including dog walkers so long as your pet is kept on it's leash.
Track Notes & Overview
Starting at Uriarra East picnic area this hike follows Murrumbidgee River around Uriarra Loop in a clockwise direction for the first few kilometres on a moderate track before turning off onto the Shepherd’s Lookout track. Follow this track for about 2 kilometres before reaching the lookout where you can take in the views, once you are finished at the lookout turn back on the lookout track until reaching the junction you turned at previously and take a left. Keep following the loop back to the picnic area, crossing Uriarra Road and descending slowly downhill to complete the hike and head home.
